2 Commonly used varieties
The catalysts commonly used in the synthesis of polyurethane and its raw materials are mainly tertiary amine catalysts and organometallic compounds. There are many varieties of tertiary amines and organometallic compounds, and considering various factors, there are only about twenty of them commonly used in the production of polyurethane.
Amine catalysts are generally used in the production of polyurethane foam and are mainly divided into the following categories:
Aliphatic amine catalysts include N,N-dimethylcyclohexylamine, bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl) ether, N,N,N’,N’-tetramethylalkylidene diamine, triethylamine, N,N-dimethylbenzylamine, and so on.
The catalysts of alicyclic amines are solid amine, N-ethylmorpholine, N-methylmorpholine, N,N’-diethylpiperazine and so on.
Alcohol compound catalysts are triethanolamine, DMEA, etc.
Aromatic amines catalysts are pyridine, N,N’-dimethylpyridine and so on.
In polyurethane elastomers, as well as adhesives, coatings, sealants, waterproof coatings, paving materials and other formulations, dibutyltin dilauate (-12) and other organometallic catalysts are commonly used, which is effective in promoting the isocyanate group and hydroxyl group reflection, but there is moisture in the formulations of the water and isocyanate reaction also has a certain accelerating effect; in the formulations of plastic runners and other formulas can be used to use organolead, such as special catalysts.
Organometallic compounds including carboxylates, metal alkyl compounds, etc., the metal elements contained in the main tin, potassium, lead, mercury, zinc, etc., commonly used organotin compounds.
